Senior Consumer Strategist

We are seeking a Senior Consumer Strategist to join our growing Portland, Oregon team. In this role, you will be responsible for designing and executing plans to build strong, lasting relationships between brands and consumers. Your work will be fueled by data and insights to ensure personalized and meaningful end-to-end journeys and brand experiences across all touchpoints (IRL, email, SMS, app, social). This role requires a balance of analytical thinking and imaginative storytelling driven by a deep understanding of consumer behavior, industry best practices, and the cultural zeitgeist.

Responsibilities

Strategic Development

  • Deep dive consumer and cultural insights, brand/customer data, and industry trends to fuel segmentation and audience definition. 

  • Audit current customer journeys and industry best practices to identify gaps, optimize touchpoints, and enhance engagement.

  • Define multi channel lifecycle strategies, testing frameworks, and personalization roadmaps to optimize customer acquisition, activation, retention, and reactivation

  • Ideate and pitch innovative campaign concepts across owned digital and social platforms

  • Identify key customer touchpoints and craft personalized, multi-channel campaigns to enhance the customer x brand experience.

  • Develop loyalty and member experience strategies that drive engagement and retention.

Execution and Reporting 

  • Own the end-to-end campaign process, including planning, building, testing, launching, and analyzing.

  • Brief and collaborate with product, writing, creative, and design teams to execute campaigns in sync with higher level strategy 

  • Create and maintain dashboards and reports, analyzing data from campaigns and customer feedback to measure effectiveness and report on KPIs (e.g., conversion rates, CLTV, churn, engagement rates) 

  • Be an expert in customer experience and lifecycle tools, optimizing workflows based on client setups and recommending solutions for greater efficiency and impact.

  • Support new business efforts by pitching consumer and lifecycle strategies, showcasing expertise, and identifying opportunities for growth.

Qualifications

8+ years experience working in a Consumer Marketing capacity across highly cross-functional teams including creative and technical partners.

  • Deep lifecycle strategy and communications knowledge, understanding the consumer journey from awareness to conversion and beyond, through onboarding, retention and churn winback to drive long-term lifetime value from consumers.

  • Understanding of the ever-evolving digital landscape including Email, SMS, App, paid media, SEO, content marketing, performance marketing, creator marketing, and more.

  • Proven track record of presenting your work to internal teams, senior leadership, and client partners.

  • Self starter with proven interpersonal and communication skills.

Reports To

The Senior Consumer Strategist role reports directly to the VP Strategy. 

Details

  • This is an in-office Portland, Oregon position with three days per week in office. A hybrid approach will make up the other two days per week, with additional days in office per week as needed or required by management. We’re committed to maintaining a professional level of flexibility for our team to do their best work. *We are open to fully remote candidates as well on a per case basis.

  • The salary band for this role is $80,000.00-$95,000.00.
