Project managers at The Program must possess an innate ability to navigate strategy, creative, technology, content, and client-brand partnerships. They own the entirety of the project process, ensuring no detail goes unnoticed and untouched. As a company cornerstone, they are solely dedicated to the success of every project and our clients’ business.
Our most important assets are people and the relationships we build. As a project manager, you will manage these relationships, delivering quality work under tough constraints with a positive outlook. Project managers are responsible for spearheading complex projects for a wide variety of clients, categories, and mediums. You will help produce deliverable requirements and documentation, oversee timelines, budgets, and resources while motivating teams and managing partnerships with confidence.
*Note: although this is not a content production / video production focused position, you will work across the content landscape in partnership, from time to time, with a content producer and content creatives.
Responsibilities
Manage client-specific projects throughout the lifecycle including project kickoff, monitoring project progress, ensuring on-time delivery and timely invoicing.
Understanding of each team member's strengths and ability to resource them accordingly.
Translates client requests and requirements into detailed briefs, and solution based plans to ensure client needs and expectations within timeline and budget.
Gain an intimate understanding of each project, collaborating in a cross-functional creative process, partnering with strategy, creative, and production teams to hit defined benchmarks.
A growing ability to motivate people in a smooth, organized manner, promoting urgency without panic, confident direction over indecision.
Define potential problems and suggest alternatives based upon cost implications, time constraints, and customer quality standards.
Organize process and workflow across project workstreams.
Manage project administration such as production status, schedules, resource requests, budget management, and reporting, working across departments and teams.
Communicate risks, opportunities, and solutions to team and partners
Contribute to creative and strategy pitches, briefs, and reviews. Work closely with strategy, creative, and technology teams in the development of new business, including pitching, scoping, and estimating new projects.
Support client and project deliverables, strategic requirements. Manage expectations against reality.
Effective presentation and communication skills.
Manage creative, technical, and production team members, in addition to outside vendors, to ensure all work achieves an outcome that exceeds client expectations.
Ability to lift up to 40lbs of gear from time to time to lend a hand.
For Portland-based candidates: Reliable vehicle and drivers license, willing to drive to be on set, meet with client partners, etc.
Experience
5+ years experience as a project manager or producer at an advertising agency or in-house at a brand.
An ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment handling several ongoing projects.
Strong organizational skills and the ability to effectively manage multiple conflicting priorities in a rapidly changing environment.
High proficiency in the Google Suite (Drive, Docs, etc.), Keynote, and spreadsheets, Asana, Airtable, and other project management tools.
Reports To
The Project Manager role reports to the Director, Project Management.
Details
This is an in-office Portland, Oregon position with three days per week in office. A hybrid approach will make up the other two days per week, with additional days in office per week as needed or required by management. We’re committed to maintaining a professional level of flexibility for our team to do their best work. *We are open to fully remote candidates as well on a per case basis.
The salary band for this role is $60,000-$80,000.
