Associate Design Strategist

We are seeking a design and data-driven Associate Design Strategist to join our growing Portland, Oregon team. In this role, you will contribute to designing, executing, and optimizing consumer marketing strategies to drive engagement, retention, and revenue growth. You’ll work tactically in a production design capacity across channels—email, SMS, in-app messaging, push notifications, and more—to deliver personalized and impactful customer experiences throughout the end-to-end customer journey.
Responsibilities
Design & Execution
Translate brand strategy, business goals, cultural narratives, and consumer insights into compelling concepts.
Identify key customer touchpoints and craft personalized, multi-channel campaigns to enhance the customer experience.
Collaborate with product, writing, and design teams to create engaging and relevant messaging for each lifecycle stage.
Concept cross-platform consumer journeys from ideation to execution.
Create membership experiences that build community and brand affinity.
Audit current lifecycle journeys to identify gaps, optimize touchpoints, and enhance engagement.
Support new business efforts
Keep a finger on the pulse of industry and channel best practices to inform strategy and drive client buy-in.
Campaign Management & Optimization
Help support production design across the end-to-end campaign process, including planning, building, testing, launching, and analyzing.
A/B test and continuously optimize campaign performance by iterating on messaging, timing, and channel mix.
Data, Tools, & Insights
Always be improving on your craft; up-leveling the proficiency in the tools you use and your workflows.
Use data analytics and customer insights to identify opportunities for design improvements to elevate marketing strategies.
Stay ahead on design strategy and consumer marketing trends, monitoring competitors, industry benchmarks, and emerging platforms.
Qualifications
1-2 years experience working in production design/design in a digital marketing capacity
A budding understanding and POV of the ever-evolving digital landscape including Email, SMS, App, paid media, SEO, content marketing, performance marketing, creator marketing, and more.
Self starter with proven interpersonal and communication skill
Reports To
The Associate Design Strategist role reports directly to the Associate Director, Design Strategy.
Details
This is an in-office Portland, Oregon position with three days per week in office. A hybrid approach will make up the other two days per week, with additional days in office per week as needed or required by management. We’re committed to maintaining a professional level of flexibility for our team to do their best work.
The salary band for this role is $50,000-$55,000.
